Login Options in Medusa Admin
In this guide, you'll learn about the ways you can log in to the Medusa Admin dashboard.
Overview#
The login page shows the login options that your technical team enabled for your store. So, what you see on it depends on how your Medusa application is set up.
Every option below signs you in to the same dashboard. The difference is only where your password or account lives.
Login with Email and Password#
By default, you log in with the email and password of your admin user.
If you're unsure what your email and password are, ask the technical team that set up your Medusa application, or ask a team member who manages users in the dashboard to send you an invite.
You can also reset your password if you forget it, and enable two-factor authentication for an extra layer of security.
Login with Cloud#
If your store is deployed on Cloud, the login page also shows a button to login with your Cloud account.
Click it to log in with the Cloud account you use to manage your store's projects, instead of a separate email and password.
Login with Single Sign-On (SSO)#
If your organization uses an identity provider, such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID, your technical team can let you log in with your work account.
The login page then shows a Continue with button, labeled with your identity provider's name. Click it, sign in with your work account, and you're taken back to the dashboard.
With SSO, your organization manages your account, so:
- You don't need a separate password for the Medusa Admin dashboard.
- Any security requirement of your organization, such as two-factor authentication, applies when you sign in.
- If your technical team turned off the email and password option, the login page shows only the Continue with button, and you can't reset a password from the dashboard.
Other Login Options#
Your technical team can also add a login option that isn't in this list, such as your organization's own login system.
If you see a login option that this guide doesn't cover, ask your technical team what it is and who can use it.
